As plastic free July is coming to an end it provides us with a moment to reflect and review our growth and set intentions going forward into the rest of the year.
Here at the Sage, we are always intentional with how our products have been produced, where they have come from, how they have affected the environment and community as well as the ethics behind the brand.
We think that most of us want to reduce our waste, when we stop and think about what our waste actually is doing to our environment, our wildlife, our oceans and our eco systems.
Life gets busy, so here at the Sage we have come up with our top 3 easy habits to incorporate into your routine, so that we can make a big impact together!
- Reusable Bags.
Swapping plastic bags for reusable bags is such an impactful habit to form. Remembering to take your bags becomes as second nature as taking your money to the shops. Keeping them in the car or your handbag is a convenient way to make sure you do not forget. We suggest that you would use bags that are biodegradable rather than synthetic. If you do happen to forget your bags, you can always ask for a cardboard box, as well as at The Sage and Clover you can use one of our compostable signature brown paper bags.
- Coffee cups
We all love our caffeine hit! What a way to wake up and start the day by supporting a local café. Making sure that you are also supporting our environment at the same time.
Sitting in for your coffee and enjoying a quiet moment we believe is best for your heart and soul. If this isn’t an option, bringing your own reusable keep cup is also a conscious decision. We love supporting our “PARGO” keep cups as they are such a community minded brand that gives back with each purchase.
- Straws
Just say “No Thanks” or bring your own reusable straw along with you.
How have you gone this July? Have you created any new habits to help lower your waste?
We’d love to hear from you! Tag us in your waste free journey on social media to connect with The Sage!
A resource that we love to refer to is “A family guide to waste free living” by Lauren and Oberon Carter from Spiral Garden. This is an incredible book filled with tips, trades and wisdom on how to respect and love Mother Earth better together.
We are proud to stock this book along with many other waste free products within our shop and our NEW online store.
With love,
The Sage Team.
